Adelaide has promoted rookie Reilly O'Brien to the senior list, who will play his first game for the club against the Brisbane Lions on Saturday night.

Number one ruck Sam Jacobs will miss his first game since 2012 after failing to overcome an ankle injury, suffered in the team's 82 point win over the Bombers last Sunday night.

O'Brien, who stands at 201cm and 100kg has been described as a "A skilled tap ruckman, O’Brien ranks fourth in the SANFL for hit-outs to advantage (123). His aggression and follow-up work around the contest is also a strength."

Jacobs' injury brings an end to the second current longest consecutive games streak of 93 to an end.
